News from the NWPA ESL Network

Attention anyone with an ESL interest in NW PA! Teacers, tutors or administrators! Have we got the group for you! The original ESL Network in the Commonwealth, over three years and still kicking!

Our group was started because we ESL teachers needed to find sympathetic ears for our classroom tears and fears, and also voices of experience. Voila!

We welcome anyone to our monthly meetings, usually the 3rd Friday of the month, 2:00-4:00. Our next meeting will be March 14th.

If you are PDE / ABLE-funded, please pre-register on e-Campus. If you have no idea what I just said, just show up! Contact us here to find out more info.

Just a quick update on the NW Network. April's meeting will be Friday, April 18, 1:30-4:00. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Sally Levan. She is the ESL Coordinator for Gannon Univ. in Erie. She will be discussing different TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)methodologies.

If you are a ABLE-finded program, you can register at e-Campus. If you don't know what I am talking about, please email me (msenger@gecac.org) & I will give you more info.

Some future possible discussions:

- K-12 ESL education in Erie County

- Changes/Updates in the Citizenship/Naturalization processes.

- A representative from Congress on immigration reform

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions for the Network, please contact me at the address above.
